Women’s Retreats in Kerala:
goddess-centred & circular sisterhood
I was born in this blessed land. I reconnected with her Devi energy a few years ago & it transformed me.
Now, I want to share my Kerala, my connections, my insider knowledge of this divine land with my sisters.
The best bit? As we receive healing from this scared land, we actively support the women of this land.
I call it Circular Sisterhood.
Healing Ourselves, Uplifting Kerala’s women
This Kerala retreat is built on a simple, beautiful promise—a sacred healing vs typical, extractive tourism.
Most wellness retreats often fly in Western instructors, import Western superfoods, and treat local communities as invisible, low-paid service staff. This is different.
We practise a Circular Sisterhood economy. What does this mean?
Your personal healing is deeply connected to the economic and social thriving of local women. When you invest in your own transformation here, your resources flow directly into the hands of Kerala’s women:
- Our kitchen is run by a brilliant Local Female Chef.
- Our ancient wellness wisdom is shared by an expert Local Female Ayurveda Doctor.
- Our sacred self-care and pampering is led by a Local Female Beauty Consultant.
- Our cultural excursions actively fund female-led independent boutiques and local artisans.
This is not charity. This is sisterhood at work.
You are held and healed by the ancient land and goddesses of Kerala; in return, you sustain, respect, and uplift the modern-day Devis of this soil.
YOUR SPACE: THE DEVI HOUSE
I bought a house. Not to build a typical tourist villa, but to raise a sanctuary.
Devi House is a physical temple-home created exclusively for women. It is a space where the walls whisper safety, where you can shed the heavy cloaks of your daily roles, and where we can simply be together. No expectations, no performance, no polite small talk. Here, we gather in the courtyard, lounge on the sun-drenched balconies, and heal in collective comfort. This is your home away from home—a sacred space of rest, rebellion, and profound, untamed sisterhood.
GODDESS (DEVI) HEALING
In the West, spirituality is often sanitised, packaged into neat little boxes of quiet compliance and gentle submission. But real healing isn’t polite. It is Shakti—the fierce, raw, untamed cosmic life force.
We are here to connect with fierce Kerala goddesses—their hair unkempt, their bodies untamed, their power absolute.
On this retreat, we will tap into the unapologetic power of fierce female spirituality. We will step into the ancient, oil-lamp-lit stone sanctuaries of Kerala’s Bhagavathy (Devi) Temples. Here, the Goddess is worshipped not just as a comforting mother, but as a fierce, protective shield who destroys obstacles and validates our rawest, most fiery emotions. Stand in the presence of this ancient, un-sanitised goddess power, feel the heat of the brass lamps, hear the deep resonance of the temple drums, and let your own sovereign fire ignite.
SISTERHOOD
The heart of this retreat: our local Kerala sisters. We welcome them as our partners, teachers, and co-creators of this sacred space. When you receive Ayurveda healing wisdom, you are receiving it directly from women who carry this ancient knowledge in their blood. When you eat, you are being nourished by recipes passed down through generations of mothers. By listening to each other’s stories and sharing laughter in the communal kitchen, we build a global bridge of sisterhood. It’s a powerful reminder that across cultures, languages, and oceans, our struggles, joys, and wild spirits are deeply connected.
LOCAL SISTERS
During this retreat, you will experience the medicine of being truly seen and deeply heard in your entirety. We gather to reveal our whole, unvarnished selves—our anger, our grief, our wild laughter, and our untameable joy. There is no judgment here. No competition. Together, we will share our stories, laugh until our bellies ache, weep without shame, and hold space for each other’s wild transformation. You will arrive as a stranger; you will leave anchored in a lifelong global tribe of sovereign sisters.
MORNING MEDITATIONS & NIGHTLY MOON CIRCLES
As the tropical dawn breaks and the sky turns to shades of saffron and pink, we gather on our roof terrace. As you watch the sun slowly rise over the historic skyline of Fort Kochi, you will be guided through gentle breathwork and morning meditation. Together, we will chant sacred Sanskrit chants, letting the ancient, resonant sound vibrations clear your mind, ground your energy, and awaken your body for the day ahead.
Before sleep, we return to the terrace In our nightly moon circle, we gather to ground ourselves with the soothing, cooling energy of the Kerala night sky, the moon, and the stars. It is a time to release the day, share brief reflections, and align our bodies with the natural rhythm of the earth so we can sleep deeply and dream wild.
BEAUTY TREATMENTS FOR SELF-CARE
In ancient India, self-care was viewed as Shringar—the sacred, slow ritual of adornment. It is the art of decorating the body to honour the divine spirit within.
We carry this beautiful tradition into our retreat. Our Local Beauty Consultant will pamper you with a nourishing manicure, a relaxing pedicure, and a professional hair blow-dry. Using the finest local creams, floral waters, and fragrant oils, this is your time to be cared for, to feel luxurious, and to look and feel like the absolute Devi you are.
MEALS AS MEDICINE
Every meal served at Devi House is an act of love, nourishment, and ethical sisterhood. In keeping with our core ethos of supporting local Kerala women, all our meals are lovingly prepared by our Local Female Chef.
In Kerala, the birthplace of Ayurveda, food is never just fuel—it is medicine. The ingredients we use are chosen to heal you from the inside out, balancing your system and restoring your natural glow.
- Breakfast Together: We gather to enjoy healthy, traditional Kerala foods like healthy steam-cooked Idlis, fermented crisp Dosas, and savoury roasted Upma (with a choice cereals always available if you prefer).
- A Light Lunch: Fresh, vibrant salads, wholesome sandwiches, and light, cooling refreshments to keep you energised for the day.
- Dinner Together: A feast of special Kerala dishes like authentic local fish curry, coconut-rich avial, and spiced vegetable sambar, all served over traditional red Kerala rice.
- A special Kerala Banana Leaf Meal: You’ll enjoy the ultimate Kerala feast: a traditional, lavish vegetarian banquet served on a banana leaf. It’s called Sadya in Malayalam, it features numerous delicious dishes served on a fresh plantain (banana) leaf, usually eaten by hand (but you’re welcome to use spoons!)
We eat together in our communal kitchen, sharing delicious food, storytelling, and easy laughter. Science and ancient wisdom agree: when food is eaten in the warm embrace of a supportive sisterhood, your nervous system relaxes, your digestion improves, and the nourishment goes infinitely deeper.
AYURVEDA WORKSHOP
The ancient sister-science of Yoga, Ayurveda is particularly vital for women’s health because it honours the natural cycles of our bodies. It is a philosophy built for our changing seasons—from puberty and motherhood to menopause and beyond.
Our Local female Ayurveda Doctor will host an exclusive workshop, teaching you how to use daily rituals, herbs, and dietary wisdom to live in alignment with your unique constitution. You will learn practical, life-changing tools to take home, enabling you to enjoy vibrant health and vitality at every stage of life.
KERALA COOKING WORKSHOP
Take the taste of Kerala home with you! Our Local Female Chef will lead a fun, highly interactive cooking workshop in our communal kitchen. She will demystify the rich spices of the land—mustard seeds, curry leaves, fresh coconut, and turmeric—demonstrating how you can easily whip up delicious, healing Kerala dishes in your own kitchen. It is an afternoon of sensory exploration, tasting, and pure joy.
arn practical, life-changing tools to take home, enabling you to enjoy vibrant health and vitality at every stage of life.
INNER DEVI, INNER CHILD WORKSHOP
Before the world told you who you should be, who were you? Before you learned to shrink, to please, or to play the “good girl,” there was a wild & fierce spirit inside you.
This workshop helps you dig deep and find your inner Goddess as well as your inner child. This is where we reject the beige and bland versions of emotional healing. Through reflective journaling, inner-child meditation, and profound Devi-discovery safe, you will reclaim your playfulness and youre untamed, primal feminine energy.
CULTURAL TRIPS & EXPLORATIONS
Fort Kochi is one of the most vibrant, artistic, and historically rich coastal towns in India. It is a mesmerising blend of giant Chinese fishing nets, historic European churches, independent bookshops, cool cafes, and incredible female-run independent clothing boutiques.
Our retreat will bypass the usual tourist traps to reveal the secret, local highlights of Fort Kochi. To celebrate our journey, we will have a special night out at a beloved, iconic local bar—a beautiful, atmospheric space where the coolest local artists, writers, and creative minds of Fort Kochi hang out.
We will also enjoy a day trip to the stunning Kerala backwaters, exploring a colourful Indian beach, a brilliant museum & local market.
GRAND FINALE: KERALA SISTERHOOD DANCE
Our final retreat day culminates in a beautiful, shared celebration: a performance of Kaikottikali (also known as Thiruvathirakali).
Don’t worry—we will have plenty of fun, pressure-free practice sessions throughout the week! This is a traditional sisterhood dance form native to Kerala, performed exclusively by women. The name literally translates to “play with the clapping of hands” (kai = hands, kotti = clapping, kali = play/dance). Moving in fluid, rhythmic, circular steps around a traditional brass oil lamp (Nilavilakku), this dance is a somatic celebration of feminine grace, collective rhythm, and raw sisterhood joy. Draped in off-white and gold, we will clap, laugh, and move as one.
OUR PREVIOUS RETREAT IN FEB 2026
My recent Kerala retreat
My 7-Day Kerala Women’s Retreat on a stunning Kerala backwaters resort was phenomenal. Participants from the UK, Switzerland & New Zealand. Workshops and experiences delivered by myself and local Kerala women because My core objective was that as we benefit from this sacred land, we also gave back to the land.
I led my group to deeply explore Kerala’s culture, her goddess temples, her sublime food served on banana leaves, her Ayurveda rituals.
- I led my group to connect deeply with Kerala’s culture: from her goddess temples,, her divine rituals, her food & her people
- I introduced them to Kerala’s exquisite food, made with locally sourced ingredients, freshly made by chefs & served on banana leaves
- I led them on a series of self-development workshops exploring their inner landscape on these themes: Inner Child, Reclaiming our Body & Investigating the Labels we give ourselves
- I organised workshops by local Kerala women: by a palm-leaf weaving expert, an Ayurvedic doctor & a chef (the only man involved!)
- I organised a day trip to the local beach, we went shopping for Kerala blouses & even went to a rooftop bar
- I put together generous gift bags for my attendees: choosing well-thought out gifts from mosquito repellent sprays, notebooks for journalling to soaps hand-made by a Kerala creator and hand-made toils made of cotton fabrics perfect for the tropical weather – to stunning Kerala saris.
- Our week culminated in a Kerala dance performance (that we taught ourselves alongside the female resort staff!) – our performance was such a highlight.
Are you ready to rise to your Devi power?
For the “bad daughters”—the cycle-breakers and rule-benders done with being the “Good Girl” – let Kerala’s fierce female energy help you you rise in your absolute, sovereign power as a Devi.
