An inspiring feminist journey from Mumbai’s slums to New York’s billboards
I grew up in Mumbai’s slums with a violent, alcoholic father. I was called a “Bad Daughter” for not following the rules for “good Indian girls.” I had a fire in my belly that nothing could dampen, not even my mother’s brutal death & deep Indian patriarchy. I built a new life in London, creating a successful podcast & platform to inspire other women.
Bad Daughter is a story of feminism, trauma, resilience and deep healing
Despite all my successes, I couldn’t outrun the past. Faced with debilitating mental health, I went on a healing journey exploring everything from psychotherapy, hypnotherapy, EMDR, acupuncture to Tantra. But to truly heal, I had to go back to my birthplace in tropical Kerala. where I experienced the most profound spiritual healing in Kerala’s fierce goddess temples. Because ultimately, healing is about facing the deepest, darkest parts of yourself.
For those seeking feminist inspiration…
Bad Daughter is perfect for women who loved Untamed, We Should All Be Feminists & Educated. This powerful true story is a reminder that being your authentic self can transform your own life – and the lives of others too.
